I was born and raised in Ojai, CA.  Growing up our back yard was full of fruit trees, garden beds, and chickens.  My mother and father are plant and nature enthusiasts, taking our family backpacking in the Sierra mountains and camping at the beach for summer vacation.  My first teacher in the art of healing has been my mother.  Her education in botany and curious scientific mind led her to question the mainstream at a young age.  She had our medicine cabinet stocked with homeopathic remedies, herbal tinctures, salves and flower essences.  I loved spending hours exploring the magic in those cupboards.

My own personal illness was my next catalyst towards pursuing natural medicine.  In High school I struggled with mononucleosis and the immune repercussions thereafter. In addition I experienced debilitating dysmenorrhea.  Through family divorce and strained relationships my nervous system was depleted.  I was back and forth between illness, school work and competitive sports.  My healing came through specialized nutrition, nutraceuticals, movement, sleep and emotional processing.  I finally learned how to listen to my body and respect what it was communicating.  This long standing first hand experience has showed me the intricate layers of true health.

I went on to pursue my higher education in Nutrition and Exercise Science followed by my Doctorate degree and residency in Naturopathic Medicine.

I am now a mother of a lively 2 year old.  The transition into motherhood has been my next and possibly greatest teacher.  During pregnancy, labor and postpartum I became my biggest health advocate.  Being molded into the practitioner I wish I had along my journey as a woman.  There is nothing like an angelic faced toddler to reflect your greatest strengths, shadows and areas of growth. He is now my guiding compass.  I am learning the value of daily and seasonal rhythms, finding nourishment and joy in small moments and the power of being in the present.

I believe that wellness is nurtured through balance.  My goal is to be an example and guide for every patient towards sustainable health for themselves and their families.  By creating a strong foundation we can experience vitality that lasts for generations.

Self care lately is often a good face or hair mask, abhyanga, body scrub and or dry brush session followed by a contrast shower, always end on cold!

Food is very important to me. I love eating really really good food, making delicious desserts, yummy drinks and snack plates.

I find joy spending time in nature and the sun. Whether in the garden, on a hike or at the beach playing volleyball or going for a surf.

Long hugs and big goofy laughs with family and friends make my heart happy!
